founded by first lady alma adamkus in 1999, the main mission of the alma adamkus charity and support fund is to support lithuanian village schools and children's homes. in an effort to stimulate the intellectual, spiritual and physical formation of village children, the fund dedicates much of its time to organizing after-school activities. the skills, guidance and encouragement that the children receive provide a foundation for a bright future. the fund also works with children's hospitals to provide much-needed equipment and medication.
